Our Teachers – Sophia Hardesty
Sara Speargas
Musical Theater/Vocal Instructor
We are excited for Sara Speargas to join our team as our new Musical Theatre extraordinaire and all-around voice teacher. Sara stresses the importance of instilling a healthy and strong technique in her students, so they may thrive in whatever genre they choose to sing. She has a particular love of musical theatre, and stays current on musicals thanks to her two theatre-loving daughters!
Sara graduated from Towson University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. She has not stopped spreading the musical word since then.
Her diverse resume of teaching includes theatre productions at local schools, studios and theatre companies, musical theatre workshops, music and movement classes for babies and toddlers, and pre-school music, and more. Needless to say, her ability to connect with children of varied ages, and meet them where they are at, is exceptional, and important when instilling music to our youth. Sara’s most impressive work, however, is the outreach early childhood music programming she provides to underprivileged children throughout the DMV with Cherry Children’s Outreach…or maybe it’s the fact that she is the pianist and vocalist in Annapolis-based band One Trick Ponies! So rockstar.
Sara has lived in the Annapolis region for most of her life and has participated in and enjoyed it’s thriving arts community. She is married with two children and lives in Odenton.
