Our Teachers – Gregory Brown
Gregory Brown
Piano Instructor
Gregory Brown is one of the most delightful human beings you’ll ever meet. He is happy-go-lucky, oh so enthusiastic about music, and kind. His relatable personality and skill set makes him just the type of teacher you want your child (or yourself) to take piano lessons with. Gregory is a prolific pianist in just about every style of music, and he has been teaching for over 20 years in various formats: as a private piano instructor at various music schools, an Assistant Choir Director at Integrity Church in Landover, MD, and a public school music teacher in Washington DC and Baltimore. Gregory can cater piano lessons to whatever style, genre, or skill level your child or you prefer.
What else makes Gregory great? He graduated cum laude from Morgan State University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Music. He also has a Masters in Music Technology from Indiana Purdue University Indianapolis. As you can imagine, he likes to use technology in his lessons when possible.
While at Morgan State, Gregory was president of the business school chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, a member of the American Marketing Association, and a member of the famed Morgan State University Choir. While studying, he became a valued member of the marketing team of GospelCentric Records and worked with Kirk Franklin, Edwin Hawkins, Kirk Carr, Dave Hollister, and a host of other artists. Gregory has sung with the United State Air Force Singing Sergeants. He has been the principal piano player in musicals like the King and I, Brigadoon, and Bye Bye Birdie. He has sung for two sitting US Presidents and Vice Presidents and is an alumnus of the prestigious Maryland Boy Choir and the Drexel University Gospel Choir (That’s right, he is not just a pianist, but a singer. You should hear his most excellent voicemail message).
