Our Teachers – Andy Boggs

Andy Boggs

Voice

We are so excited to have Andy at Naptown Sings and Plays! holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The University of Maryland School of Music, College Park. We find Andy to be incredibly kind, nurturing, and full of talent! He will educate your children with strong technique, and with a lighthearted smile.

Throughout his time at The University of Maryland School of Music, he sang as the tenor soloist in Purcell’s Welcome to All the Pleasures with the University Chorale. Other concert highlights include performing as the tenor soloist in BWV 116 in UMD’s Bach Cantata Series, and as a soloist in Handel’s piece Sing Unto God with the UMD Chamber Singers.

Andy was the Music Director of DaCadence A Cappella, one of UMD’s many A Cappella groups on campus. During his time with DaCadence he arranged music, led rehearsals, and led the group musically. In addition to this he competed in the ICCAs with DaCadence and went on to the Wildcard round of the competition. He believes that his experiences will help his students to become well-rounded musicians and kind-hearted people.

He is currently preparing the role of Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore with Victorian Lyric Opera Company. Past roles that he’s enjoyed are Gomez Addams in The Addams Family, Brack Weaver in Down in the Valley, and Vincent Jones in Street Scene.

Outside of teaching he loves to hike, play basketball, eat Crumbl cookie, and hang out with his dogs Obi & Leia.
